Welcome to view our profile!

We have a Mediterranean style home, Indian Fusion decor, nestled in urban Katikati (beautiful Mural Town). Small 1228m2 intensive organic food production in the village. Fruit trees include fig, macadamia, avo, peach, nectarine, plum, macadamia, apple, pear, mandarin, orange, guava, olives, feijoas and lemons. Also gooseberries, blueberries, black currants and strawberries.

Lots of herbs, veggies (seasonal) make for great organic vegetarian meals. Solar water heating. Solar panels generate most of our energy needs. To see how one can be committed to organic growing principles on a small intensive scale, please feel free to contact us via email. We need help doing odd jobs like fence painting, gardening, mulching, composting, building simple structures in the garden, cleaning etc.

We have a small guest room in the garden which is comfortable and cosy. It affords a sense of privacy and includes a small fridge and coffee making facilities.

We are vegan, with wide interests in music, art, movies and of course, passionate about sustainable living principles. If you have specific dietary needs like gluten free, it is advisable that you bring your bread and treats with you. Please inform us of your needs BEFORE you arrive. Thank you for reading our profile.

Katikati is a beautiful small town, within walking distance of our home. We are equi-distant to both the Park Road and Beach Road harbours which are both scenic locations. We invite genuine interested visitors, either a couple or single person, interested in sharing our home and lives for a week or so.

We share our home and lives in return for 4-5 hours of work in and around the home and garden. Please try to follow through when you make accommodation plans with us as it involves a lot of work to prepare for your stay. We welcome non-smokers only.

Send us an email with your skills and abilities so we know how best to match you up to jobs we need doing.

Mike was a sales rep for organic food and Jizzy is a kindergarten teacher and reflexologist. We have both decided to no longer work for a salary but rather create a sustainable lifestyle at home! We both play ukulele and have fun sing-along sessions. Mike and I are not "musicians" of note, but sing and play with abandon and joi d' vivre. We have a lazy and much-loved cat called Shanti, who lives with us. Not to be confused by our daughter, Shayni, who now also lives with us.

Please check out our blog to see what kind of activities we do, and a little bit of what we get up to in and around the garden and home.
