Why Volunteer in Manipur?
Manipur is the far most remote area in the north east part of India, bordering with Myanmar in the east, forming a connecting point of East and West. It is still much not known and visited by the outsiders until it was recently open for visitors by the Govt. of India, Nov.2012. The people of the state love to share their local cultures and traditions to foreigners and visitors as they don’t see much outsider in the region so far.
Manipur was kept confined without letting the fresh air come in and go before, and now we needs to explore.
The valley of Manipur is surrounded by 9 hill ranges, the mainland Indian people known it as “ jewel of India” where you can see which you don’t find in other part of the world.
The Siroy Lilly that won the most beautiful Lilly Award before the Second world war.
The Sangai, a braw antelered Deer, only available in the Keibul Lamjao Wildlife Sanactuary which is also the largest floating wildlife sanctuary in Asia.
The Loktak Lake, 2nd largest Fresh water lake in Asia.
The Rash-Lilla, the famous dance of Manipur for which India proud of.
The International Polo, it was originated from Manipur, a right place to learn Horse Riding.
Manipur is famous for indigenous sports and even it holds the record “Capital of Indian Sports”.
However, the region still needs many volunteers to promote in Education and other Sustainable projects to bring a hope for peace to the communities in Manipur.
