***Welcome! So far we are booked in August. ***

The farm was established in 2014. It is 2/3rds forested, and 1/3rd fields.

Learn how permaculture (ecological design) is being incorporated into our farm:
* growing our forest garden (2ac or 0.8ha)
* cultivating shiitake and oyster mushrooms, plant and graft trees (April-May)
* getting our hands purple with berries (July)
* picking apples and heartnuts (September-October)
* optimizing our energy, water, and fertility systems
* track observations about the landscape
* harvest and table at occasional farmers' markets
* participate in workshops and community projects

I have a permaculture design certificate and specialize in forest gardening, wild and edible plants, mushroom cultivation, site design, water systems, social permaculture, and many more.

Expectations are for guests to help 4-5h/day. We usually work in the morning and later afternoon when it isn't so hot, and do an activity in the afternoon. Independent travellers are welcome; however, as I do not have family commitments, many guests appreciate my personal attention in incorporating variety into their experiences, or just having someone around to chat if they wish. In addition to the many projects on the farm, I have a number of projects throughout the area so you will have a chance to learn about more permaculturizing places. Should you wish to further diversify your experience, I am connected with similar farmers and hosts nearby who can accommodate short visits.

We are blessed with natural beauty and opportunities for hiking, swimming, and kayaking. We have an off-grid trailer with beds or summer tenting, propane appliances, and electricity. We are very close to town and even closer to friendly neighbours with showers, wifi, and laundry who enjoy sharing space with responsible guests who love the earth and outdoors. We often enjoy time with community-minded folks live music, reskilling workshops, film screenings. I try to source local, healthy, and ecologically grown food. I eat meat occasionally and am adaptable to vegans.
