Taiwan based, internationally oriented - our vision is to foster stronger communities by promoting local and international cross-cultural creativity and talent exchange.
This is a non-profit social organization promoting cultural and creative industries to strengthen Taiwan's international vision of art. Our organization was founded in Vancouver, Canada. There, we established "We Love Vancouver Festival" to embrace art and dance by showcasing a collaborative celebration of music and dance from the various cultures in our community. Local and international artists were able to share their common appreciation for art and more! With the success in Vancouver, we are enthusiastic to bring our vision to Taichung, Taiwan!
In August 2014, we began our non-profit global village project in Taichung, Taiwan. Volunteers from all over the world have helped renovate an old house into a platform for exchanging and sharing multicultural and arts and also a shelter for cats. Art knows no boundaries, unbounded culture through travel of the mind and flying imagination. Many human souls dream of a medium for expression, to have an open foundation and undisturbed world to explore their creativity. Our lifestyle in Taichung aims toward providing a home base community to artists and travelers. Through various creative courses, cultural exposure, collaborative projects, community outreach we aim to make the world a better place! This is a highly creative society, open to new ideas, and there are great opportunities for out of the box thinkers to shine. A passion for arts would be very beneficial for this placement. We prefer those with artistic background, planning ability, English teaching skills, and interest in community activities and community empowerment. We are also looking for people who love cats and will be able to take care of them. People with patience, creativity, an interest in learning Mandarin and Taiwanese culture, and a peaceful fun loving attitude are most welcome.
We are currently only seeking for one or two volunteers who can be with us for a minimum of four weeks stay request and a maximum of 90 days (5 days of work - 4 hours each day, Saturdays and Sundays off).

Chaville house of Global Village is located higher in the mountain with a breathtaking nature view.
There are mountains, hiking trails, river streams, hot spring and nature eco-environment. You can go fishing, painting, reading, hiking, visit local museums, cultural squares, and most of all you can meet new people and practice Mandarin
The rest of the time you will be free to go hiking in the area or check out Taichung. We are located at beautiful and friendly neighbourhood just outside of the city center but only takes 25 mins drive to downtown or 1 hour on the bus.
At the moment the bus is the best way to travel around Taichung, the metro is coming soon!
Since last year, Chaville house also functions as a shared co-working office space called GVLove International Coworking Space. Also, we held a book reading club where guests need to pay some money to use the space.
