Hello! We are looking for strong and energetic helpers [aged over 25 with some experience of work]to help with an active and varied work schedule from the beginning of October 2018 onwards. We need to do exterior work, particularly collecting wood from our forest, clearing undergrowth, chopping, fruit picking and planting. Also some help with renovations of an underground chamber, moving and preparing building materials, painting, cleaning, preparation of the chateau and pool area for wedding viewings, helping with customer room preparation and breakfasts, on occasion and antique furniture wood polishing.

Whereas in the past we had large groups of volunteers - we only have a household of 6 people currently to allow room for our B&B guests of which the income helps pay the bills at Brametourte.

Our Chateau was built in the 11th century and is set amongst 20 hectares of sun-flowered fields, woods and parkland, with organic fruit gardens and a solar-heated swimming pool. The Chateau is rich with the history of Viscounts, Cathars and the Knights of the Templar. It fell into neglect following an attack during the 16th century Wars of Religion.

We bought it 11 years ago, to develop it using traditional building, green living and sustainable techniques.

As we are fun-loving and people oriented, we have developed the Chateau's social potential for holidays, weddings, hospitality & cultural events.

We ask you to provide 25 hours assistance a week and help with the [vegetarian with fish & cheese] cooking schedule. In exchange we provide board and lodgings in this unique location, with the opportunity to explore the area and local bars & festivals in one of the most friendly, welcoming and beautiful parts of rural France.

If this sounds like your sort of thing - we look forward to hearing from you! Travel is easy from Toulouse with a regular SNCF train from Toulouse to Vielmur sur Agout where we will meet you.

A bientot!
Alison, Grant and Paul
