Since 1978 this Station has pioneered ecological methods of improving degraded lands using stock management, weed control and planting improved grasses. Now the beautiful paddocks with their groves of native trees, spectacular boabs and eucalyptus, serve as a model for sustainable management of the tropical savannah and support our horses and cattle herd.

The Kimberley School of Horsemanship offers training for all ages in horse care, horse training and riding. Facilities include a round yard, rodeo arena and special paddocks for care and foaling. Horse rides are available for all levels of experience. The School includes a breeding program for Quarab horses.

Our small scale Tourism facilities include a bush style campground and a limited number Savannah Bungalows in the beautiful gardens around the homestead. For those interested in our approach to sustainable ecology we have ecotours and horseback trail rides through our paddocks.

Helpers are part of the 'extended family'. The work you do here is varied: weed control in the paddocks in the early morning, working in the vegetable garden, weed control around the homestead (manual, whipper snipper), planting and harvesting, maintenance on machines, operating machines. You might help with one of the building projects that are underway and with our tourist operation. We ask you to work 5 hours every workday and participate in the cooking roster on top of that. In the weekend we all spend an hour or two on housekeeping. We have horses and cattle, there often is time for a horse ride.

We provide your meals and on some evenings a glass of wine. Life should be enjoyed. We have several special evenings, where we have a ‘formal’ dinner to put our mind on other things than work on the station. You will find out when you are here. You live in a Savannah Hut, a free standing single bedroom with shared facilities. In principle you have a room for yourself, occasionally when we have a full crew and many tourists we ask you to share the room with another helper.
We have a varying crew with changing nationalities. The fixed crew of two is Dutch/Australian. The temporary crew is people like you, basically from all countries of the world and we never know in advance.
