Hello! We are a family run regenerative farm, focused on sheep and agroforestry,we also have a built a cob studio (natural build) , a tiny house is in residence and we run a native cut-flower and sheep dog training business. Our sheep have their lambs in late July so its a great time to come if you want to see lots of lambs! We also conduct tours of the farm for all types of groups to teach about sustainable and ethical farming. Jobs to be done are, stock work (such as drenching, moving sheep and yard work), helping with shearing (end of November), fencing, tree pruning, natural building, gardening (practicing organic and permaculture principles), wildlife rehabilitation, feeding animals - dogs chickens, sheep, horses, alpacas and lambs. We have three children all grown up who are heavily involved in the farm and one grandchild. Sustainability is a key focus with around 20% of the property covered in trees. We also try to live sustainably, recycling reusing composting as much as possible. We have been with the Wwoofing scheme for over 20 years with many fond memory’s, we love learning about different cultures and ways of life. We live in a vibrant community full of live music, art and outdoor activities at the foothills of the Otway Ranges national park. Only 20 min from the iconic Great Ocean Rd there are many beautiful beaches and amazing bush walks to explore.
Accommodation is an upstairs loft in our barn (see pictures) with a shared bathroom and kitchen in homestead, in winter you can stay in a spare bedroom in our house if you like as the barn can get cold! (only one person or couples), all meals provided.
Minimum stay of one week please. Own transport not necessary though if you want to camp in the national park it will be easier.

We have a Facebook page: Yan Yan Gurt West Farm with lots of pictures and reviews.
