This is a 60ha peaceful, forested property in southeast Queensland, 70km from Gympie or Maryborough. 10ha of rainforest bordering a freshwater creek and swimming hole with lungfish, platypus and turtles. Munna Manna is in overlapping environments (temperate/tropical, coastal/inland), creating a vast diversity of life in a variety of habitats.
We are slowly building shelter (timber, solar powered cottage) and outbuildings, mixed orchard, veggie garden and food trails. We have now completed new visitor quarters. Our general philosophy is to rehabilitate forest and ecosystem while eking out an existence for ourselves. Work includes weeding, gardening, orchard care, bee keeping, building/construction, tree planting, propagation and forest management.
Electricity is from a stand alone(off grid)solar power system. Outside toilet, shower and fire bath. 30km to nearest shop. Accom for 2 people in separate wwoofers quarters, caravan or BYO. Cooking is done on fire or in cob oven{wood-fired pizza oven}. Shared meals- vegetarian. In our spare time we like to do yoga, go for walks in the bush, bicycle riding, swimming in the creek and going to the beach. No children. No smoking inside.
All horticulture on Munna Manna is organic. We also use some permaculture principals but have not done any training or courses.
Because of the distance to town(70 km) we prefer if wwoofers can give at the least 1 week notice of when wanting to arrive. This can save us unnecessary journeys and allows us to be better organized. Can pick up from Gympie or Maryborough. Initial stay 7-14 days, longer stays negotiable. Good access to Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island. Also WWOOF host.

Happy Travels
Julie and Allan
