We are looking for help from January 2016.

We are a fun, hard working, yet relaxed and laid back family of 5 (two living away) in a beautiful hidden valley in the Forest of Dean on the border with England and Wales.

The place is secluded, quiet and away from it all whilst being close to the cities of Bristol, Gloucester and Cardiff (45mins away each).

We are developing the farm combining the best of traditional, organic, permaculture and bio principles and are at the early stages of setting up a sustainable, synergistic agroforestry systems integrated with terraced vegetable beds, Apple, Apricot, Peach, Plum, Pear, Cherry and Chestnut Orchards, juice and cider production. We are keen to develop the smallholding as a climate change demonstration farm and educational tool for local actions to combat peak oil and climate change.

We are are looking for ways to integrate education as part of the holding and develop it as as a hands on teaching resource for sustainable living.

The smallholding will adapt and change as it evolves but we aim to supply as many products as we can from agroforestry including coppice wood products.

We are currently primarily working in the woodland trying to bring our semi ancient woodland back into active management. The things we need help with are:

- setting up infrastructure for woodland sustainable living courses
- planning and building a green oak timber frame balcony, porch and barn and teaching centre.
- outside work on fencing
- Clearing and building clearings/terraces in woods for yurt accomodation
- Building new and converting existing eco dwellings.
- Landscaping
-Headge laying
- Firewood extraction and processing for the house
- Brash/Scrub clearance

We are passionate about the environment and living lightly whilst being pragmattic about solutions to solve some of today's environmental problems. We love to work hard but have fun doing it. We work at building resilience in society to the challenges we face today and developing community owned renewable energy systems in England and Wales.
