This equestrian centre was established in 1976 and is one of the longest running equestrian schools in Melbourne specialising in beginner and novice riders. We are 28kms from the Melbourne CBD in Warrandyte which is easily accessible by public transport (bus).

The property is 18 acres with enclosed floodlit dressage arena, showjumping arena, cross country jumps and safe trails through the beautiful Warrandyte State Park across the road. Tandivale Equestrian Centre is also affiliated with Pony Club Association of Victoria.

Help is required with general property maintenance including pasture management, fencing, painting, gardening, mowing lawns, cutting wood, feeding and managing cleaning/catering during school holiday program times. Jobs will be negotiated based on your experience & ability! Nothing is too hard but we would prefer helpers who are self-motivated and like to ‘get things done’ – also you need to enjoy being outdoors.

Experienced horse riders/handlers would assist with all aspects of management of the horses. You will gain further knowledge and experience in feeding and nutrition, general care, handling, first aid, training and educating of horses. We have a number of young horses that an appropriately skilled rider would have the opportunity to exercise/train.

Experience instructing in a riding school would be highly desirable, as would a current Working with Children check and first aid qualification. Although the property is predominantly an equestrian facility we also have dogs, cats and goats.

Helpers without horse experience will have the opportunity to learn to handle and manage the horses if interested.

Work times will depend on the time of year and which programs we’re running when you visit but you can expect 4-5 hours per day about 5 days per week. Your accommodation is a 2 bedroom self-contained unit and you would predominately provide and prepare your own meals. The bus stop is 800m walk and major shopping centers like Ringwood Eastland and Doncaster Shoppingtown are easily accessible for shops, cafes and cinemas. Sometimes we can give you a lift/pick you up from the bus if you don't have your own transport.

Additionally, Warrandyte township is well known as a lovely destination for river walks, cafes and has an eclectic arty vibe with lots of local studios. Warrandyte and surrounds also has lots of wineries, markets, hiking/bushwalking trails and interesting places to visit.

Check out our website for more information about what we do & then contact us if you think you’d like to visit. Initial stays 1-2 weeks and longer stays can be negotiated if everyone's happy!
