We are a registered organization, operating in slum areas of New Delhi. We run free education projects for children living in these slum areas most of which receive no other form of formal education. They come from extremely impoverished backgrounds, most of whom are working for the family to help provide them with enough income to put food on the table. Many of the families of the children are migrants from other parts of India such as Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. They move to New Delhi in hope of work and a better future, but many are forced to live in slum areas and struggle to find enough income to feed their families. We also operate a community library with over 1000 books which children from the community can access.

We also run a Women's empowerment program where we teach women skills such as sewing, embroidery and jewellery making. We are working towards making this a completely sustainable project where we help the women by teaching necessary skills, then helping them sell their products through our website and in the marketplace, generating an income to sustain their project and for them to help support their families. We also provide counseling and support for women living in our community.

Volunteers can come and teach our 170+ wonderful children English, or assisting our current teachers with their lessons. You can come and make use of our library by helping children with their reading, helping with their homework or reading them a story. Women are strongly encourage to apply to come and assist with our Women's Empowerment program, helping us teach these women the necessary skills they need to Thrive.

We can provide accommodation to our volunteers through a home-stay style accommodation with a local host family. This is a perfect way to experience Indian culture and their way of life. Accommodation is modest, you will have your own room and an Indian style toilet and 2 local Indian meals per day. We do ask volunteers to chip $10 per day to help cover expenses.

We have morning classes at our main school between 9am-11am and afternoon classes at all 3 of our schools between 3-5pm. Women's empowerment classes run on most days at our main school building.
