WANTED EXPERIENCED HORSE RIDER

Our property is set in the picturesque Mary Valley in Qld, featuring glorious rolling green hills that have direct access to Amamoor National Park and Amamoor State Forrest with plenty of trails for bushwalking, hiking, horse riding, and bike riding along with numerous creeks, streams and waterholes for swimming. We are 40 minutes from the beach and regularly visit the beach (Sunshine Coast). Our farm has many fruit orchards including mangoes, avocadoes, guavas, lemons, macadamia nuts, walnuts and much more.
We are offering the opportunity for you to work with an experienced horse trainer riding and training a variety of horses from easy going well educated horses through to recently broken horses, and handling unbroken horses that will undergo further training. We will have up to 12 (give or take a few) horses at one time that will require varying aspects of horse husbandry and training. These horses live in their natural environments in the paddocks (where possible) and there is minimal stable work. You will need experience in handling horses and need to be a confident rider, and willing to work under guidance and independently.
You will also have the opportunity to travel, spending days away looking at and trying new horses. We are looking for someone who will blend in with our family life and actively participate in all aspects of farm and family life; from contributing to house chores, upkeep of farm (help with fencing, orchard work), work with horses, and help out with our 2 children (9 yrs and 6 yrs) along with our family pets (dogs, cats, birds and chooks).

It is important that these candidates are motivated as we start our days at 6:30 am.
