We are looking for voluntary support in the areas construction, gardening, harvesting and conserving fruits and olives as from the end of March 2016. A helping hand behind the bar and in the hostel would be great.

Our hostel is a cozy, friendly place for a relaxed stay-over in the local setting of Albardon, a quiet region in the outskirts of San Juan surrounded by vast nature and (organic) wineries. The Bar & Grill was inaugurated in the summer of 2013/2014. We are doing a final upgrading in order to be able to re-open this season. We are planning to re-open around the beginning of May and only in weekends.

It is a very friendly place where mostly locals like to go for a special night out with good music, food and drinks. Occasionally we organize an event with live music or an art exhibition. For now, we are still in a start up phase, exploring the possibilities and constructing in the backyard.

Marcelo started to develop something here, after (re-)discovering the beauty of this place, when we - originally from Buenos Aires – got reminded of its beauty, after many years of neglect. We are the owners of the place ever since we can remember but spent many years living abroad, travelling and working in the city. We did not pay much attention to the wonderful energy until a few years back.

A combination of the desire to start something for our own and spend more time in nature, made us come to Albardon where we created our little corner. We don’t know yet where this will lead us to, but we are very happy in seeing the wild bush turn into a nice hangout for locals and international travellers to feel comfortable and at home.

We are looking for volunteers to participate on a daily basis in the mountain of work we’re doing. We will take care of the sleep-over facilities and meals. Don’t expect too much luxury. If you have your own sleeping bag or sheets, it would help in the beginning. If you prefer camping in the backyard, you’re welcome to set-up your tent as well.

When we welcome you we count on you as a family member. This means for the time you’ll be around, you’ll be as responsible as we are for the maintenance of the place, to help cleaning and to participate in cooking in rotation. We hope to function as one family, and make your stay with us an experience you’ll never forget.

Please note: we have several dogs.

We are located in a quiet area without many facilities. There's Wifi available, and public transport (bus) to San Juan goes on regular basis.

Touristic activities are hiking, horse back riding and climbing. Hotspots in the region a bit further north are Rio Jachál and El Dique de Ullum. Worth paying a visit is the Archeological Museum of La Laja. But most important in this region are the organic wineries and their wine-tasting events. If you like a good glass of wine, this is the place to be!

We speak Castellano, English and a little (Brazilian)Portuguese and German.
