We are located in the heart of Quito, right in the centre old town (Centro Historic distric). At Colonial House, we consider ourselves somewhere in between a Hotel and a Hostel where you can have fun and still relax and rest peacefully.

Volunteers are generally needed to work at the reception desk. You will work 5 hours a day swapping shifts with other volunteers. Volunteers answer tourists´ questions, responsible for check ins and outs, show guest to their rooms, help make breakfast, help with laundry and generally helping guests with whatever they may need.

In exchange we offer a bed in the volunteer dorm and 3 meals a day. We are an Ecuadorian family living in the hostel as well, so there are always people around, and we have a lot of fun!

We expect our volunteers to stay for a minimum of one month and generally can host four volunteers at time. Volunteers are welcome to stay longer than one month as well.

We have internet access and speak Spanish and English so it's a perfect time to improve :)

Volunteers generally have one to two days off a week. There is lots to do in Quito including many museums, parks, and different neighbourhoods to visit. Additionally, volunteers can arrange to take a few more days off and travel to different parts of Ecuador (Quilotoa, Otavalo, Papallacta, Baños, the coast, etc.). Public transportation is excellent in Quito and in Ecuador, so volunteers can get around easily. We are located very close to Old Town in a neighbourhood called La Tola, only a few blocks away from the three main bus lines.

Any questions let us know, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
