We are an older couple living on a lifestyle block with a small warmblood horse breeding unit. We also enjoy developing gardens both for food & pleasure (potager, vege beds, herb gardens, wild flower garden & borders) We have two foals rising 1 year, 1 pregnant mare due January and 2 mares due to be impregnated this season. We also have chooks, and a couple of house pets.
We offer separate studio accommodation in an atelier on the property. This has an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette with stove, washing machine, crockery and cutlery.
Included is wifi (limited) and widescreen tv with a large collection of movies available. We prefer 1 week stays. We expect 4 and a half hours of work daily. Generally work at Sunnymede includes garden maintenance, weeding, landscaping, mucking out horse fields, horse grooming (if you know horses!), and housework.
You are expected to provide your own meals but your studio kitchen is stocked with basic items such as flour, rice, sugar, coffee, milk, cereals etc and you can usually source veg from the garden and meat from our freezer. A car is helpful as we live rurally but we can accommodate those without a vehicle and can meet buses/trains in the nearest towns ie Otaki and Waikanae.

There's a quad bike & trailer available for farm work and we can teach you how to drive the bike.
