This is a rural property so you must have your own vehicle.
Most work here is garden, farm, painting or cleaning related. In return for a night of accomodation we expect 4 hours work.
The accomodation you are offered is a privately situated, upmarket 2br gite with chefs kitchen (appliances, crockery & utensils). The kitchen contains some cooking/bkfast basics. You are expected to provide and cook your own meals; usually there is some produce available in the gardens, certainly a variety of herbs. There are many food outlets in towns 10kms north and south of our farm.
We are an older couple living on a lifestyle block, currently with some breeding horses and we're developing gardens for food & pleasure (potager, vege beds, herb gardens, wild flower garden & borders.)
Our helpx and wwoofer workers are expected to be independent but their work is valuable to us hence the cushy accommodation.
There are some beautiful places and walks of interest in our locality: Otaki River Estuary, Otaki Forks, the Paekakariki Escarpment, many beaches and open farms. The two nearest towns are Otaki and Waikanae. Just under 1 hour to drive to Wellington.
