We are a 4th generation family farm based at the foot of the Pentland hills. We are predominantly a pasture farm (sheep, beef cattle and pigs) and also have a certain amount of woodland. We rent out a number of our farm cottages as another arm of our business. Currently we are looking for help on the farm and in the garden to assist us with a diverse range of jobs. Those jobs range from grass cutting, hedge trimming, weed wacking, woodland management, fencing care, animal husbandry and all sorts of other general maintenance.

We are providing self-contained heated accommodation with two bedrooms, a kitchen and utility room, living room/studio and bathroom. We will be organising meals on a case by case basis. We as a family are excited to share several meals a week with our guests but we also respect personal space so provisions for food or a weekly organic food box (csa) can also be arranged.

We expect our guests experience to be a rich exchange of knowledge. We consider ourselves stewards of the land and life on the farm is about the accumulation of information over generations. It is embodied knowledge that has enabled us to develop and evolve forwards into an ever changing environment that faces us today. What we can learn from our guests is equally as important as the information we can share as hosts.

Please get in contact if you think working with us would be a mutually beneficial experience.

Jamie and Helen

P.S During the quieter winter months of the year we are also providing a space for an informal artist residency. Our facilities are limited but if you are interested please contact our eldest son Angus.
