*We will be accepting volunteers as soon as lockdown has finished.*

Renovating a rural house and garden in the Welsh hills. We are currently working on our old family home, it's a 200 year old traditional cottage and we hope to make it into somewhere special. Think thick stone walls and sheep fields all around the house.

About the work : The work will be focused on the renovation of an old stable, there will be work building a kitchen and a bathroom. There is also work in the garden, where we have an organic vegetable garden. Also have work working on a garden project at a nearby house with a large, interesting garden. Looking for help with digging, weeding, clearing land, renovating paths and putting up buildings. We can be flexible with the work schedule, depending on what suits you, but preferably the bulk of the work is in the mornings from Monday-Friday.

About me: I'm Harri, I've spent a lot of time over the past few years working in permaculture and eco construction and I hope to be using these ideas on the house. I speak fluent English, Spanish and Welsh and also understand French. I've been involved in many exchange style projects and also Couchsurfing. My brothers will be working at the house with us sometimes, and the house gets the occasional visit! My mother (Nicki) lives nearby and she has work to do in the garden that she needs help with, please specify if this interests you more.

About the house: *We are currently having to be very careful about the water use at the house, please ask about the current situation* The house itself has hot water, showers, clothes washing facilities, wifi, and a fully equipped kitchen. There are no shops in our village although there is one local pub. Buses pass from a bus-stop 10 minutes walking from the house, and it-s about 30 minutes to get to Bangor, the nearest 'city' which has plenty of stuff going on. There might be the opportunity to go together to different local social events, go to the mountains or beach, cold lake swimming, slacklining, cycling or climbing.

The area is quite touristy nowadays, near to where we live you can go on a mile-long zip wire, wander in the mountains for days, climb in abandoned quarries and even check out the beautiful beaches on Anglesey.

Volunteer criteria - Please don't apply unless you meet at least 2 out of 3 o the following filters
- Experience in either construction or other helpx type projects
- Speak English well
- 25 years or older

Feel free to get in touch, cheers!
