We run English language day camps for 7-12 year olds in Latvia. We work in schools and youth centres in and around Riga. These camps last two weeks, from June 6th til June 17th.During our student years we used to spend summers teaching English in Italy and Spain. This was an incredible experience! We enjoyed it so much that even now, all graduated with full time jobs, we still spend 2 weeks every June organising these events in Latvia. So this is a working-holiday for us as well and we will naturally try to make it feel like one.

We are looking for native English speakers that enjoy interacting with children. Most of our lessons are led by local Latvian tutors. However we benefit greatly from native speakers running some of our activities and conversing with the older, more advanced children. On a typical day you would present the day's theme, key words and phrases. You would then help children with textbook exercises and various group activities. This would involve games and competitions, arts and crafts as well as stories and theatre plays.

We expect you to contribute for around 3-4 hours per day, but we're pretty flexible on this.

In return we provide accomodation and a generous food allowance. In addition, we organise a fun team weekend in Aglona and other trips around Latvia during the week.

During the week we will be staying at a charming backpacker's in Riga's Old Town. The hostel is a two minute walk from one of the schools we work in. The place has great staff, nice friendly atmoshphere, plenty of common areas and a rooftop bar in the summer (post-work pints on us). We will spend the weekend at a lakehouse in Aglona where private rooms will be provided.

There will be hard work that will drain our energy in the morning. But the rest of the day is ours. So, whether you want to go sightseeing, relax on the beach or hit the old town bars, you will always have a few volunteers and two hosts that are eager to join. Our local Latvian tutors are always happy to show you around Riga or elsewhere in the country. During our weekend trip to Aglona you'll have the chance to experience a traditional Latvian sauna, go fishing with the pros, ride around on jet-skis or play beach volleyball. There really is something for everyone there!
