We are a retired couple of age 63, a french man and a brazilian woman from Bahia state, who decided to spend the rest of their life to preserve atlantic forest (25ha) while creating an activity around farming and horse riding with friends, family, and visitors. The ranch accomodations and horse facilities are brand new and have officially opened in February 2017 with the objective to host up to 6 riders from all over the world and organise from half-day to several days rides on horseback. Coconut plantation as well as many different tropical fruit gardens are already producing but we plan to develop more and achieve above 50% use of locally produced food in the meals we serve on the ranch. We implement whenever possible the best practices for sustainable development such as solar thermal generation, rain water recycling, organic farming and value very much the well-being of our animals, and harmonious relationship with neighbours and local people,...

Helpers will be hosted in an independent two-bedroom house (photo 2 below) and receive 3 meals per day. We expect 25h of work per week. Itacaré is a well-known place for surf and trekking and we are only 3km away from one of the most famous surfing beach. On the farm, you will be able to ride horses and drink unlimited amount of fresh coconut and other juices from fruits harvested on the farm.

We are looking for one helper for a period of 2 months starting January 10th to help us on the guest house work: breakfast preparation and serving, cleaning of the rooms. Marginally may participate to daily activities: care of plantations, installation of fences, maintenance of trails in the jungle, feeding of animals. Need to speak either french or portuguese.
