We are a French-American and English couple, Anne-Claire an artist, reiki mistress and massage-therapist and Mike a permaculture trained occasional Shiatsu therapist who now works in the woods. We moved here from England in search of a space where our creative visions of growing, building and being could be realised. We aim to grow as much of our own food, drinks and medicine as possible. After 7 years in our Yurt and now with four children sharing the not so large space, we are moving into a barn and so have a space to welcome helpxers!

We ask for help with building projects and with the veg garden.

There is a big push this year, with the birth of number 4 to focus on the barn conversion, using ancient and modern approaches. There is mudding and liming to be done on the strawbales, pouring an earth floor, and using clay-straw slip for internal walls. We try to grow a lot of our own food, we eat our own meat, but don't be put off vegetarians, as we are both ex-veggies. We make sour bread daily and grind our breakfast oats. We have no mains water and so use rainwater, and heat the water for baths and showers with a rocket-stove. There are solar thermal panels to be built, solar PV panels to go on the roof and a wind turbine to go up. There is also a geodesic dome greenhouse that needs finishing, before attaching it to the stone house. There is no television, and no WiFi, although we do have a limited wired internet connection so do bring your own entertainment!
