In light of the COVID situation we will not be hosting any volunteers this season!

Do you care for food that is produced both ethically and organically, by means that also combat climate change? Are you willing to put sensible, selfless, hard work into creating such tangible values? Then read on! We’re looking for people like You! People who are eager to help and learn about farm life, Hungarian culture and traditions, and share their own stories along the way.

We are Anna (27) and David (33) and this year we’ve just started our pastured chicken enterprise on our new 40 HA farm. Sustainable meat production is of key importance to us, but above all we are a Climate Farm, fighting the effects of climate change by means of holistic grazing.

We are younger than most farmers in Hungary (dare I say, Europe), which means we are flexible and happy to socialize and understand your needs and preferences. We understand and respect vegetarians. We are aware of how a wholesome, home-cooked meal can raise the morale. In this regard, Anna is the one who cooks delicious, often times traditional meals, pretty much every day.

Anna is very fond of historical fashion, especially folk costumes from Hungary and Transylvania. Besides traditional costumes and how to make them, she also learnt folk dancing for over 10 years. She knows many eco-friendly, historical beauty treatments, which, helped her grow healthy, knee-length hair. She’s happy to show-and-tell and share her stories and tips and recipes, be they food, beauty or history related.

David is the scientific and technological mind behind all innovation on our farm. He studies soil samples, builds 3D printers, assembles FarmBots and CNC cutting machines both as a hobby, and as a way to make our life and work easier. He is well versed in Ninjutsu, and will gladly train with any martial arts enthusiasts.

Besides us two humans, you’ll get to meet our four dogs (Komondors and Mudi), seven cats, 3 cows (Kárpáti Borzderes), 3 sheep (including an adorable Lamb), about two dozen laying hens and their rooster, some Indian Runner ducks, and the couple hundred chickens that we raise on our pastures.

Reading some of our reviews will paint a picture of all the fun times other helpXers have already had with us. Enjoy a cost free holiday with us and other volunteers, while learning about profitable small scale farming and how to set up your own. Our schedules fill up very quickly, so make sure you write to us and reserve a spot ASAP.
