Looking for hard working people who are wanting to experience rural New Zealand.

We (Andrew and Lucy) are located in rural Southland on a 730 hectare dairy and beef grazing property, approximately 1.5hrs drive from Queenstown, and 2.5hrs from Dunedin.

We are looking for willing, hard working people to help with general jobs around the house and garden, involving weeding, clearing parts of garden, mulching etc, feeding animals (chooks and pigs), stacking fire wood, and inside jobs such as painting, and general tidy up of rooms, cooking etc, cleaning out old cottages and helping with the set up of a new fishing lodge (cleaning, painting, landscaping).

You would have your own self contained separate cottage to live in. All meals will be at the homestead, however we would provide you with breakfast at your cottage.

We expect 4 hours productive work per day for food and accommodation and over top of this time you are expected to clean the cottage at the end of your stay and help with meal preparation and dishes.

We would prefer singles or couples for one week’s stay. We can not confirm bookings for more than a week until we see how well the arrangement is going. You MUST have your own vehicle as we want you to be able to get out and about and see the sites in your spare time. We are located in a rural area therefore hitch hiking or public transport is not available.

Lucy works from home, therefore needs people with initiative who can work on their own.

We are located near to the Mataura River which is world class trout fishing, we have a few fishing rods for your use, but don't forget your fishing license!

We look forward to hearing from you!
