I am living on a Demeter farm in west Jylland. Here we would like to build a community where we can live of the land, and sell some things. Now we are selling salamis and cheese. There is a clearing in the forest 3ha big where there is the possibility to create a forest garden. You are welcome to come and stay, even for a longer time, to learn the practical skills in farming and to help develop the farm to an eco-community where we can have a nice time together. At the moment there are about 40 cows and 200 pigs, we can start milking the cows who give birth now for sel fsufficiency or even to start supplying the local dairy if someone is interested in commiting to this. We have 3 chickens wich have started laying eggs for our own use.
This season we are slowly starting a good kitchen garden so we can be self sufficient with vegetables also, and even try to sell some.

There is a field about 2 ha where we can start a serious vegetable production now. For this we need 5-6 volunteers and someone to take responsibility for this. If you have experience it will be easier. It is not paid work, it is your own business and your expenses are covered by the farm as long as they are reasonable.

Daily tasks include feeding the cattle, about 21 bulls and 70 cows and heifers and feeding the pigs. This is done morning and afternoon about two hours each time. Apart from that we have a lot of varied work depending on the season. In the coming summer there will be work with the fencing to herd the cattle through the fields so they can graze.

Some numbers, ca. 200 pigs, 35 cows, 21 bulls, 70ha land, 1 tractor, 1 farmer, 1 farmers wife.

Ask for anything else I will regularly check my inbox.
