Minimum stay 2 weeks. This is a large house on a hill surrounded by woods and fields, with disused swimming pool, a tennis court and stables . The nearest town is Meulan, a "bourg" situated on the Seine river, 50 km west of Paris. Meulan is on the edge of Normandy and about 10 minutes drive away from the house with many traditional shops and a market twice a week. Giverny (Monet) is about 20 minutes away. There are 3 golf courses close to the property for anyone interested. The house was built in the early 70ies in a traditional manner and its best feature is the wooden beam structure created by the "compagnons", travelling/training traditional corporations. The house was badly damaged by a flood a few years ago and is slowly getting back to its former health but still needs some work. There are many opportunities for capable trades people to demonstrate creativity as there are out buildings which need to be added to. The people I am looking for have to be experienced and be competent in dealing with the challenges of mechanical faults occurring in equipment for instance, as well enjoy the isolation of the property. There are charming neighbours in the hamlet below, but they are a 10 minutes walk away. The site is truly magnificent!

The skills required include chainsaw handling, plastering, plumbing, painting, tiling, electrical work, gardening and general handy work. We need to nurse this lovely place back to health!

I would be happy to provide frequent meals and arrangements can be made according to people's specific wishes.

There are no pets on the property, but lots of wild animals roam freely, and although one feels a million miles away from civilisation there, a 10 minute walk down one of the tracks affords a full view across the Paris basin, with the Eiffel tower in the distance.Ideal location for beautiful walks.

I very much look forward to being in touch with you!

ML Jackson
