My property includes a 5h vineyard and a 10h natural bush reserve. From the top of the reserve, which has been set aside for native animals, birds and flora, there are fabulous views of the valley to photograph. For those more energetic enjoy walking or cycling the Riesling Trail which passes through my property - a mere 50m from our backdoor.
Right in the heart of the Clare Valley wine region I am only 5-10 minutes’ drive to Clare and some of Australia’s top wineries including Pikes, Mitchell’s, Kilikanoon, Crabtree, Annie’s Lane, Knappsteins and Taylors.
I am looking for a person or couple who are interested in helping me establish the garden around the house. I've made a good start, but due to work commitments I'm no longer able to spend the time it requires.
Depending on the time of year there is work in the vineyard such as prunning, lifting wires, and picking grapes. I am in the process of rejuvenating and improving the vineyard with the aim of being totally organic. My grapes are sold to make wine to various winemakers. The aim is to have wine made under my own label in the next year or so.
In summer the temperature can reach high 30'c to low 40's degrees celsius. In winter the valley has about 4-6 frosts per year with the temperature ranging from -6 degrees early morning to 10 degrees celsius during the day. Hence, in summer it is best to get up as early as possible to work before it gets too hot.
Your help would be most appreciated and I promise not to work you too hard! In return for full board (bed and all meals) I would appreciate 4-5 hours work per day depending on how easy or hard the work is!
Finally, you must have a car as I live in the country and there is no public transport to and around the Clare Valley.
