We live in paradise. Our rural property is 4km outside of Martinborough's charming wine village, which is one of the tourist destinations in the region.

For your 5 hours work you'll receive accommodation and meals. We need help around the farm and in the house. In addition to the 5 hours of work, we ask you to help prepare meals, clean up after meals, and at the end of your stay please strip your beds, clean your room, and scrub your bathroom. We appreciate people who are friendly, hard working, and responsible.

We've got 20 acres with 500 olive trees, plus apple, plum, apricot and quince trees, a small veggie and flower garden, and some chooks. Work involves weeding, mowing, house cleaning, farm chores, planting, pruning, feeding chooks, etc. Minimum stay 3 days.

We lease part of the land to a stock agent who runs cattle and sheep, but there's no work for you to do involving the stock. They're just fun to look at.

There are two bicycles you can use to get to the village if you don't have your own transport. We're happy to pick you up at the town square when you arrive, and drop off.

In your free time you can do a bicycle tour of the local vineyards, drive out to the coast and see the seals and Cape Palliser Lighthouse, enjoy the cafes in the village, or just walk down to our river and put your feet in.

You'll have a TV for watching DVDs and videos (sorry no broadcast reception), plus access to a wireless connection if you've got a laptop with wireless (but please be mindful of data limit).

To get here by public transport, take the Wairarapa train from Wellington station to Featherston (55 minutes), then take the bus from Featherston to Martinborough town square (20 minutes). That's where we could pick you up.

As a gay couple originally from the States and who lived in Japan for a number of years before moving to NZ, we're always keen to meet people travelling through New Zealand and around the world.

We look forward to hearing from you.
