Important: If you want to join our team, please contact us first to check if we have availability! We have limited spots and being close to Rome we are often full and unable to handle short-notice requests.

We are a care farm that exists since 2002, one of the first care farms in Italy. We have animals, vegetable gardens, and a fruit yard. Our many animals are part of the staff, they work with us with the disabled. We have experience with animals but a bit less with vegetable gardens. Since 4 years we work together with a horse riding association that specializes in Horse Bed Riding therapy for multiply disabled, the only one in Italy. The farm is near to the sea and only 1 km from the train station from where you can reach the centre of Rome in about 40 minutes. You will have a room in our farm appartment, which doubles as guest house and office. There is a living room with an open kitchen, and a bath room with shower and (small) bath. Even if we don't do large scale production, it is a real farm, and therefor it is important you are not afraid to get up early, and get dirty or tired ;-) We ask 4-6 hours of help per day, and of course you can have your time off too :-)

From August 18 to September 7:
At this particular moment we are looking for someone to help to assist an Italian lady of 92 who is suffering from Alzheimer. You will stay with her on the farm. You will obviously have free board and lodging and time off, and there will be a financial compensation. If you would also like to learn more (about the farm, natural horsemanship, communication with horses or other animals) of course you are welcome :-)
Your job would be to help an Italian lady of 92 who is suffering from Alzheimer with daily life activities: for instance help her remember to take her medicine at the set times, keep her company, accompany her for a walk, and be around in case of need during the night. You will never be alone with her, but we will be working on the farm and need someone to stay close to her during the time we are in the field. During the night you will sleep like any other person in the world ;-) but since she does not know anymore how to handle the cell phone we just need someone near her to give us a call if she should happen to feel unwell :-)
Helping with farm work will not be your first priority, but of course if you like to learn you are always welcome :-) Your main chore is to be an extra pair of eyes on her for us and stuff like make her a cup of tea or fry her an egg if she would like that.
Basically we are looking for a lady, sociable, friendly, cheerfull, with a lot of patience (her short-term memory is gone so you will be asked the same question many times) who is capable of making a cup of tea or coffee, frying an egg, using the cell phone in case of need, and who can help her with things like the remote control for the tv (she does not understand anymore how that works and tends to push buttons at random). We will always be nearby.
Good command of the italian language is a must.

Respecting nature and animals, and sharing experiences and passions is important in our team. You want to be part of it? Email us :-)
