Welcome to our page!

Me and my husband Mohammad have been running a cafe in Najafabad, a suburb of Isfahan, since December 2016. The primary aim of the cafe is language exchange. Your main task will be speaking with students and locals, who are language enthusiasts and eager to practice and learn foreign languages. They are particularly interested in learning English, French and German. We are looking for native or non-native speakers who are fluent in one of those languages. We welcome new ideas and creative minds to entertain customers.

We welcome volunteers to come and stay at our home in Isfahan, in exchange for helping us at the cafe every evening. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the cafe from our place, and we will provide a taxi for you. The work is 4 hours a day just for accommodation (you should provide for your food). There is no minimal length for your stay, and you will get one evening off every 6 days. Maximal stay is 10 days.

It was the first cafe in Iran with this idea. It came to my mind while I was traveling through villages in Turkey by bike and cafes were the best place for me to meet people, which was my main aim on that trip. I think language is the best thing that connects all people all around the world with peace, kindness and love.

We are running a hostel at our home in Isfahan, so depending on availabilities, you will have your own room or stay in our living room. You can use the kitchen and all facilities. Make sure to get yourself an Iranian SIM card if you need internet because we don't have wifi. Please feel at home, but in return we expect from you to leave the premises as clean as you found them!

If you like to discover Iranian culture, meet lots of people with different ages and different mindsets, hang out with locals and have fun, it's the best place for you!

High season (March-April and September-October): we also need help in the hostel (welcoming guests, preparing breakfast, cleaning, help with social media). Depending on our needs, you will work at the hostel and/or at the cafe (we should discuss it prior to arrival).

We hope you like and come to support this project!

Hajar & Mohammad
