Here in Tuscany, we are now looking for 1, 2 or 3 people over 25 years of age (to share a room) twin or triple bedrooms with full board at a quaint old and rustic 4 bedroomed villa in Tuscany in exchange for 5 days work from monday to Friday 5 hours per day (8am until 1pm with a short break in between)for up to 2 weeks initially, but could be longer. Weekends off . Applicants who are not coming by car, must make their own travel arrangments (cheap Ryanair and Jet2 flights to Pisa and then one and a half hours by train to Pontremoli, then by taxi 15/20 mins from the village). The Villa has now had several upgrades and the bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Inside the house is comfortable with all mod cons incl Wi Fi. Outside the house and small garden still need a bit of work to be brought back to their original splendour. The host is fairly laid back and friendly and an excellent cook. The area is a place of outstanding natural beauty, there is only one very small village and NO OTHER SHOPS! Food is great and the natives friendly. Work is definitely manual labour and experience is essential. Jobs will be one or more of the following: removing cleaning and repainting shutters, outside painting, repairing broken cement and laying small stone slabs. Clearing the small garden and planting. Building a wooden pergola.
In return there will be full bed and board, excellent food 3 meals a day (occasionally some wine with evening meals). You will have plenty of free time to explore the magnificent rivers (fishing allowed with permit which costs about 8 to 10 euro)and chestnut forests surrounding the village. Or take day trips to the magnificent Cinque Terre, Florence, Pisa, Parma, Bologna and Lucca. You should know that the village is quite remote and a twenty minute or so walk to the next village. A bus goes to the town every day at 7.30am and returns at midday. Evening excursions would require a taxi or a lift into town which is often available. Take a step back in time and reconnect with nature! This is your chance for a wonderful memorable and unforgetable Tuscan experience.
