We are a family owned and operated farm seated beneath the Blue Ridge Mountains near historic Lexington, Virginia. Our gardens (totaling to 3 acres), laying hens, and a variety of perennials located throughout the farm produce a bounty of delectable greens, peppers, squash, brassicae, herbs, preserves, berries, fruits, eggs and tintures to feed two of our local markets as well as our CSA.

As we strive to feed our community we are never left with a dull moment! Work on the farm requires diligence, patience, and a good sense of humor. We are seeking like-minded individuals who have an interest in sustainability and organic vegetable production. Common tasks include weeding, caring for chickens, mulching, and sowing seed. We are ready for volunteers who are looking to compromise a little bit of cell signal for soil under their fingernails and mulch in their boots.

Volunteers (this being you) will be housed along with the interns as well as an indoor cat. Internet, electricity, fresh spring water, laundry and plenty of space is included at the farmhouse. We ask that you be respectful to housemates and to maintain proper hygiene. Drugs and/or smoking are not allowed on the farm, but we do like to kick back and enjoy a beer (or two) at the end of the day in our own spare time. Accommodations regarding meals include fresh vegetables off the farm and lunch.

Expect your work day to be at least 5 hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesdays are usually "off days" when we're selling at the farmer's market. We are typically free to roam on weekends, but note that we may occasionally need additional help on Saturdays or Wednesdays depending on the demands of the farm.
