Firstly note that we can`t afford to pay wages, only free food and accommodation. We are always open to offers of help. We have available a neat 3 bedroom fibro house on another part of our property, also a small caravan where we live, for when there is someone or a couple who prefer to be closer and / or do not drive. There is Telstra reception in the area for mobiles, and wi fi at the main house to check on emails etc. Not for watching movies etc as we do not have a large download as it is too expensive for us. We are in need of someone to help John on the farm and also a bit about the house. We own a small beef cattle farm,in the hills , elevation 700 meters, 1 hour south west of Ingham, which we also produce hay for our livestock. We breed our own cattle to sell for slaughter. We are 2 1/2 hours n/w of Townsville and about 4 1/2 hours s/w of Cairns. We are getting aches and pains and cant work full days any longer, so we need help with livestock as well as maintaining machinery and construction of buildings, as our farm is a work in progress. We have a timber saw mill which we mill timber for our selves. We have a couple of stock horses as well as a cattle dog, and farm cats. Also chickens and turkeys for eggs and meat. John also does metal sculptures as a paying hobby . See us on you tube at : farming life australia. As well at ; the Hinchinbrook Way, click on video gallery and search The Art Of Farming and also Fishing For Inspirational Art. We are a non smoking, drug free work site. We are 1 hour from town, where we could pick you up from the train or bus and then bring you to the farm. The caravan has no private toilet or bathroom facilities, but there is an extra toilet outside and you would shower in the house. We live in a little house which we are in the process of extending. You can have all your meals with us. John also plays a bit of guitar and banjo. We treat our helpers as helpful friends, not workers. Please check out our YouTube channel Farming Life Australia before you come and make sure you think it will be your cup of tea, as we will not be going to town for a minimum of 3 days.. You must be able to understand and speak a fair level of English. Jobs can range from basically helping about the house to cattle work, fencing, building sheds and extensions on our little house, cutting and sawing timber on our mill or just to burn in our wood stove,or clear and plant ground for improved pasture for cattle, including hay and silage to be cut and baled. We would expect you to work till lunch time.
