Hello,

We are seeking volunteers for gardening, cleaning and basic DIY.

We are looking forward to meeting new people!
There would be time to spare and we're just 40 minutes by train away from the center of London.

We ask that volunteers stay a minimum of 4 weeks, with longer stays appreciated and prioritized.

This is a friendly, welcoming place with much experience hosting volunteers. We have had volunteers from all over the world stay with us and everyone here believes in promoting cultural exchange and learning new skills.

Location:
This is a beautiful property located near Stanstead Airport in Hertfordshire. There is a small village (High Wych) 5 minutes walk away with a shop, post office and pubs. Sawbridgeworth is a 20 minute walk away and has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Harlow is the nearest big town with a shopping centre, leisure facilities etc. London is half an hour by train. Public transport links are good, and you can get the bus or train to Sawbridgeworth or Harlow. We also have bicycles available for use.
There are beautiful gardens and a pond on the property where you can relax and feed the ducks. You can look at pictures of Primrose by going to our website link above.

Accommodation:
There is a communal dining area and kitchen for volunteers to use and mobile caravans for sleeping, which are basic but comfortable. There are plenty of essential items to make your living environment warm and cosy. All towels and bedding are provided and there is a separate laundry facility for washing your clothes, which includes washing machine, dryer, irons and ironing boards. A television and radio are situated in the main living area and there is WIFI connectivity. There are separate showers and toilets. You would be responsible for looking after yourself and keeping your area clean etc. Food is provided for you to prepare. In the evenings, volunteers usually cook and eat together, which is a great way to get to know each other and try new recipes from all over the world.

Please let us know on your registration form if you have any special dietary requirements - we will do our best to cater for you!

Help needed:
There are many different tasks that we need help with. We will find the tasks that best suit your abilities and interests. As the work here is varied, a flexible "can-do" attitude is best. Here are some of the types of people we are looking for:

DIYers: There are various do-it-yourself (DIY) projects, including repairing fences, maintenance work on the grounds, painting, and other general repairs.

Gardeners: planting, watering, cutting grass, trimming, weeding

Cleaners: light cleaning of communal areas and getting areas ready for when new people arrive. We also sometimes have ironing and other various cleaning tasks

Office helpers: filing, answering calls and emails, assisting with ordering supplies

Please let us know if you have any relevant experience with any of the tasks listed above. Also, you will take part in cleaning and organising areas of storage/work and communal living spaces. Volunteers here work 4 days per week and 6.5 hours per day. Days off will not necessarily be consecutive, but we will always do our best to give any specific days off with previous notice.
A good understanding of the English language is always preferred so that you can understand instructions given to complete whichever jobs you are given, although we realise people are coming as an opportunity to improve on their English. It is also helpful to know if you are qualified to drive in England and are confident to do so. In general, we want enthusiastic people with an ability to work alone and along others where necessary.

We are not able to have volunteer arrivals outside the hours of 9am and 5pm, so please take this into consideration when booking your travel.Inside of these hours on weekdays, we can usually have someone pick you up from Sawbridgeworth Station. We cannot guarantee someone will be here on weekends to show you in, so please check with us with regards to arrival dates before booking your travel.

Please get in touch with your interest, we are happy to answer any further questions.

We look forward to welcoming you here!

Best Wishes,
Sylvia, Owner
