Agroforestry spot in a sloped valley
on the heart of St. Mamede Natural Park,

About this project:
Souto Verde (former Souto Queimado) has been abandoned for 40 years and recovered since 2009. I'm Zé Paulo, farmer, builder, barefoot engineer, working into the ecossystem aiming for self-suficciency.
Activities on the farm:
The day never has a plan, but always full of activities with the garden, the animals, cutting firewood, small construction & repairments, preparing the products for small organic markets, make and exchange ideas for arts & crafts.
The daily shedule consists on a early wake up and late works with a stop on the sunny hours for a bath or a siesta.

Conditions for guests:
There are fresh water, compost toilets and good conditions for camping.
There is one house for guests/helpers fully equipped with furniture, solar electricity and wood heating.

Deal for the guests:
FULL HELP = 8 hours of work in exchange for bed & all meals included (1 or 2 weeks).
HALF HELP = 4 hours of work in exchange for bed & breakfast (1 or 2 weeks).
AUTONOMY = The experience of manage your own farm 150 Euros/month (one month min. some vegetables included).

The guest house is off-all-grids
no paved roads, no electricity, weak telecommunications, no shops nearby.
there is a small 12 Volts solar station,
strong enough to charge some gadgetry on a sunny day.
There is weak mobile and net coverage,
and that's why our answers will always have a delay.
But good things come to those who wait,
with love and light.
