We are a mother & daughter team farming 48 ha 18 kms from Havelock North. Stunning location with pond to swim in Within 30 min drive are beaches, wineries & nice biking. Can pick up from Havelock North, Hastings or, at a push, Napier Airport. We practice biological agriculture, permaculture and wholistic grazing management. Stock includes Jersey cows, Lowline cattle, East Fresian and Polled Dorset sheep and lots of chickens. We can accommodate up to 3 in one bedroom. Well trained children are welcome. We have satellite broadband, an infrared sauna and a large eco book collection but no TV. People with practical skills and/or exchange experience are appreciated. We generally expect you to work 6 hours a day.

Chores are likely to include: stock work and shifting fences, vegetable gardening, light landscaping, some house work and tree planting.

We enjoy a wholesome diet of traditional saturated animal fat and meat, most of which we grow ourselves. If you come to visit you must eat as we eat and work hard Prefer nonsmokers. Excellent food is very important to us and we're happy to help you learn a variety of traditional food preparation skills while you help out with meals.
We invite you for a two day evaluation with the opportunity to extend your stay beyond that. We are looking for longer term people who truly want to learn about biological farming and a healthy traditional way of eating....and we're serious about the hard work while you are here. We work hard to provide excellent meals and you need to be prepared to return the value to us.
