An environmental friendly all timber houses set on 75 acres of bush/rainforest on the edge of the Urutawa conservation area a private mountain behind and a river in front. Horses to ride (great rides through unspoilt nature) lots of birds wild life wild deer come right up to the house. If you have come to New Zealand to see the nature this is it. Untouched Native forests, lots of bird life. Wild deer and goats sometimes come close to the house. Small, friendly and interesting community of hermits, hunters, horticulturists and other alternative life-stylers not full on organic more of a back to nature approach
Special dietary requirements
I eat a typical kiwi diet If you have any special dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free , etc.) please advise me before you come I need to plan my meals up two weeks in advance as I donít get into the supermarket often. If you have special diet it is not OK to think I will eat whatever you have just without the animal products or whatever. You will still be welcome but may be expected prepare your own meals and either bring your own food or give me a detailed shopping list well enough in advance to prepare for your visit
Come say for a few days maybe a week. Free food and accommodation in return for a few hours work per day.
Access is to my place is difficult about 20 km out of Opotiki down a narrow gravel road e-mail for more detailed instructions I may be able to pick you up from in town or bus stop
Pets I have 5 horses that roam the property but generally hang around the house don't put your lunch down someone will pinch it
I don't smoke but you are welcome to smoke outside on the deck
Things to do around here great tracks to walk, swim in the river jump off bridge 7meters up into swimming hole mountain bike or horse-riding some short some two or three days
