I'm a French kiwi farmers' wife. I arrived in NZ 31 years ago and married a local NZ Sheep / Beef Farmer. I have an orchard with a French twist!, I am very keen on my vege garden to feed as much as I can the family, we have a collection of poultry (chooks, ducks, guinea fowls) all free ranging and raised to be eaten as well as rabbits. I'm trying to become as self sufficient as I can and definitely try to use biological principals in my home environment as well as on the farm. Brien's hobby is deer and ducks hunting.

There is always lots work to do around the house. Vegetable planting, picking, fruit picking and preserving, weeding, pruning, redesigning the garden, taking care of the animals around the house and of course some farmwork helping Brien.
We have 2 hosting rooms with private shower rooms. Bedding and linen will be provided as well as all meals. We are 12km from the closest village Piopio with dairies, superette and bus stop.
We are 45 min from Waitomo Caves, 2h from Rotorua, Taupo, New Plymouth and Whakapapa ski field, 1 hour from the Pureora forest and its biking tracks, and locally we have few tramping tracks in natural bush. At Piopio itself you can visit a stunning farm (Hairy Feet Film location tour) which was the film location for The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey (scenes for the stroll and campfire, the staddle Farm, Trollshaws and the home of "Sting")

We are keen to take helpxs who have a love of animals and for outdoors activities around the garden and orchard and enjoy a quiet family life. We can have 1 or 2 person at a time or even couples. We are a non smoking family. As we are meat producer, we are eating meat at all our meals so please we would prefer not to have vegetarian.
