Hi, we are Dutch farmers in Spain, near Extramadura. In this area formerly ran 14,000 goats. It is our dream to have a traditional goat farm and to produce cheese.

We live in El Payo, Salamanca, where there is the stable and a lot of terrain to herd the goats. El Payo is a quiet village surrounded by a beautiful forest, where we can herd the goats in the way we want: quiet and a lot of food.

We built a cheese-dairy in El Payo and we started to produce cheese in May. Small-scale and all organic!

Now we have 145 adult goats and 60 babies. We milk by hand and herd the goats whole day, with our sheepdog and a guard dog.

Until July you will be able to have an experience of taking care of and herding 200 goats, instruct the sheepdog, milk by hand and make cheese. So, the whole process until a very tasteful cheese!

From August until December we don´t milk and do not make cheese of course. Than the main job is herding the goats.
In October is the ´baby-boom´, a lot of extra work taking care of the mothers and babies.

In November and December we also will be harvesting the olives.

We will, off course, supply bed and meals and free time to enjoy the place. We talk Dutch, Spanish, English, German, little bit of French. There is a bus directly from Madrid to a village nearby where we will pick you up by car.

We hope to meet you! Wilma and Sikko
