***I'm currently looking for helpers in the garden during September*** I look forward to hearing from helpers who love the French countryside and can put their backs into tidying up the garden in exchange for good accommodation and meals.

The house is in Tarn-et-Garonne in the Midi-Pyrenees, and is rented out in the summer as a holiday home. It's in a beautiful position in a rural hamlet of just a few well-spaced houses round a picturesque common. There are beautiful walks into the gorge near the house, and the garden is a haven for birdwatchers.

There is a fair amount of garden work both to prepare it for the holiday season, and to keep the garden under control, e.g. hedge cutting, root digging, bed clearing. The house sleeps up to 10 so there is comfortable and spacious accommodation for helpers.

Caylus, a few kilometres from the house, is a mediaeval village nestling in the valley of the river Bonnette, a tributary of the Aveyron.

Caylus is in the departement of Tarn-et-Garonne, with its incredible diversity of landscape and rich cultural history. Think of lush green hillsides, dramatic limestone gorges, picturesque fortified mediaeval villages and chateaux.

Close by is St Antonin Noble Val, so-named due to its situation in a valley deep in a spectacular gorge carved by the river Aveyron. The film of 'Charlotte Gray' was filmed in its ancient narrow streets.

Local specialities include goose and duck dishes, tasty breads, cheeses and mouth-watering fruit, not to mention the produce of the many vineyards.
