Greetings from Rotorua, world famous for Maori cultural experiences, geothermal activity, spas, hot pools, nature parks, biking and outdoor adventures. We live in Fairy Springs with Mount Ngongotaha and the Skyline Gondola visible from the driveway. 3 minutes walk to a nearby supermarket and the Baybus suburban bus stops.

For groups of two or three, there is a private self-contained cabin with a king size bed, a sofa bed, kitchenette and ensuite. For solo travellers and when the cabin is unavailable, there is a spare bedroom with bunks (a double & a single) in the main house sharing the kitchen and bathroom. Immaculately clean bedding & towels provided, unlimited highspeed fibre wifi and laundry facilities.

**CURRENT PRIORITIES: blockwork (fence repair), basic carpentry skills (pallet projects), drywall installation, painting, lawn pimping :) **

This very modest accommodation is available in exchange for an equally modest amount of your time. Two options: 2 hours per person per night, buy & prepare your own food; or 5 hours per person per night, all meals provided.

Flexible start/finish times to have full days free to enjoy being a tourist. There is a long to-do list to restore the property to a pristine state - housekeeping, lawn mowing, weeding, cleaning, various repairs or maintenance. Select the tasks that suit the weather and your interests and abilities. Suggestions invited also based on any particular skills or experience you have.

Minimum stay 3 nights, maximum 7 unless you have skills of exceptional value - eg builder, plasterer, painter, electrician, carpenter etc.

Please note that if it is essential for you to spend lots and lots of time with a big chatty host family in an upmarket situation, this is NOT the place for you. It is ideal for self-reliant, independent people wanting an easy suburban break in a friendly, relaxed environment.

We are listed on 2 other sites and often receive several enquiries daily. Please confirm promptly after we respond to your enquiry with an offer. If we don't hear back from you within 24 hours, that same offer will be extended to the next person enquiring for those dates. With many HelpXers not replying promptly or not replying at all - hopefully out having fun - it was wasting a lot of time chasing people for confirmations so we no longer do that.
