Hey all you fantastic volunteers out there.

We are building up a guesthouse and restaurant from the leftovers of an old resort and would love some help with gardening, cleaning, reception, cooking, painting, web design/pr and other odd jobs.

We are Patrick and Mads.
Mads is a Danish Chef who is finally staying in one place now after traveling for several years. Just so you know, I'm the most chill chef around.
As a former traveller using helpx to aid my travels I now some of the concerns you might have with volunteering somewhere so please ask any random question you might have and I'll answer the best I can.
I met Patrick first as a volunteer and we both saw an opportunity in the place we want to build up now and started working together, he's a great host by the way.

Patrick is a Swiss guy who's been in Paraty for 4 years running the Happy Hammock hostel.

Most of the work is physical, working in a jungle environment, so you should preferably be comfortable with random critters hanging around, able bodied and have your hands screwed on right.

If you have great ideas how to improve the place we are open to suggestions since we are starting with a pretty blank slate except for the existing buildings.

We expect 4 hours of work per day, but you can arrange the work pretty much any way you like and in exchange we will provide accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, lunch is usually leftovers from last night.
The food is mainly vegetarian, drinking water is what we bring from town and water for shower and toilets is from a local spring and stored in big containers .

The location is right on beautiful Praia Vermelha with the jungle in the backyard and there's random wild fruit trees growing around the place so the best way to wake up in the morning is going for a swim in the ocean.

The place has no wifi and is only reachable by boat but we sail to town about once every second day and you are more than welcome to come along if there is room on the boat.
We prefer having people for a minimum of 2 weeks, but throw us a message and we'll get back to you.

We hope to see you soon
Patrick and Mads.
