Hi, we run a large beef cattle farm near the town of Montmorillon. We're a Dutch/English couple with a German background, so we speak a variety of languages. We've been helpers with helpx last year in New Zealand, which has been an amazing experience for us. Now we welcome helpers at our farm. We have just started here and are just getting into it. A lot needs to be done, so there is always something that will suit you. Veggie garden, building work, farm work, garden work, French tutoring and so on. We have plenty of rooms available and our cooking is not too bad :). Large swimming pool and bbq for the hot summer days are also available.
It is a big farm (about 900 acres) with a lot of wildlife (wild boar, deer etc), woods and ponds, so there is plenty to explore.
We're very easy going people and our main interests are animals and mountains! We have both done various seasons working as ski instructors. Franzi used to be a primary school teacher and also has done a lot of horse riding instructing.
We are proper meat eaters, but do not mind to cater for vegetarians as we eat vegetarian occasionally as well. Please only come if you like animals. We have dogs, cats and some chickens and ducks at the moment beside our cows, but more animals (horses) are on the way.
Just send us an email if you're interested. Because the farm is quite isolated, we would advise you not to come alone, but if you want to it is off course possible. Pick-up possible.
Thanks and happy travels!!
