So what's the story with our farm?

Well, it's a farm whose caretakers are working to enact just that…a new story! We believe that virtually all of the problems that come with civilization stem from people believing the predominant cultural story which says we are "above" or "separate" from nature. This story that is omnipresent in our culture tells us that the natural laws of nature are not applicable to us.

New Story Farm is a regenerative farm, one that is growing in the direction of an agrarian intentional community.

We share the land with Daniel's parents. They live in the house and we live in the garage while we are building a small dwelling that will serve as a communal space. It will be mostly ready by Spring 2019.

For now, we are seeking persons wanting to come for 2 weeks up to 2 months at a time to help us with growing veggies and caring for the perennials. We holistically raise cows, chickens and pigs too.

We have an ex post truck with queen bed you may stay in or a large 7 person tent. There is a composting toilet and outdoor shower however, the communal building is nearing completion and has a working kitchen and bathroom. We will feed you organic veggies and ethical meat from our farm.

Along the way you will learn about regenerative farming, permaculture, communal living, herbalism, wild foraging, silvo pasture, food preservation and ultimate homesteading. We have lived at Earthaven Ecovillage and The Possibility Alliance and have visited numerous intentional communities in the midwest and south east.

You don't have to have skills, just a willingness to live mostly outdoors and be open to the variety of tasks that change daily. We are still in the building phase and need folks who can come to the table with a good attitude and be adaptable to how the day unfolds.
