We are constantly on the look-out for willing volunteers who are resourceful, easily trained, have the right attitude also comfortable at being hands on.
As well as the guesthouse duties which come first, there is a small cooking class we run, usually there is 2 classes per week, so joining the preparation for classes is expected, this may include trips out to the local markets, to collect the ingredients for the classes.
There is a small cafe, that we are working on at the moment. The construction work is finished.

Also, there is another small humanitarian project we have running from the guesthouse, its called @bagsforkidsindonesia We make bags, phone cases, iPad sleeves and other soft bags. All made from recycled materials. These are then sold and the money goes to a couple of education projects in Indonesia. Sometimes this project needs help with making the bags, maybe you can learn to sew on a vintage Singer sewing machine. (just like your grandma used to have)

Love and peace to you all.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Check-in/Check-out of guests

- Entertaining other guests, showing them, the
great places, we will show you.

- General housekeeping and maintenance of (but
notlimited to) reception, dining area, toilet
and shower.

- Watering the plants

- Bringing dirty linens to laundry shop and
organizing linen storage.

- Painting and carpentry work (if you can)

- Art skills, music, juggling, uni cycle riding
or something else.

- Help with the cooking classes

Volunteers are requested to help out in the guesthouse for a minimum of 5 hours per day for at least two (2) weeks. This is relatively flexible.

In return for your help, you will get free accommodation, one free meal a day, and live with a Malaysian family. When time permits, you'll also learn to cook, Malay local food.

We are not a big party hostel who go out drinking all the time. We are a social group who like to cook and chill and show you the cheapest best local spots to eat and show others. If you are relaxed, need time to work on your projects and do not want be chained to a broom or reception all the time, maybe we are the place for you.
