I have an organic garden on a 20 hectare property near the beautiful fishing village of San Felipe. I have a degree in electrical engineering and I am so self sufficient that I only spend $370.00 USD in 2018 even though, as you will see, my standard of living is quite high. I can cook free of cost for decades with a 4 pot "Herty solar cooker" that connects directly to a solar panel and it cooks bread, rice, beans and an omelette automatically. I build a concrete house for about the price of a car with my invention "Horsy" which eliminates the need for scaffolding. I can teach you how to control weeds without chemicals using "Gravilla", naturally fertilize irrigation water and make any crop use 3 times less water using a "Rock culture". With my "Laminas" invention you can grow food almost anywhere, even on a flat rooftop in the city. See how I make tiles, concrete furniture, a solar oven and a solar water heater. (I can Bluetooth you all my agricultural, engineering and construction notes.) I believe my net effect on the environment is positive because of my very low consumption and I plant trees and make an arid place green, providing fruits and water for animals and birds, increasing wildlife.###The ranch is very remote and only for people who like a quiet, relaxed lifestyle, enjoy nature and who are passionate about a self-sufficient minimalistic lifestyle. I need help with agriculture and with light construction, whichever interests you most you can participate in. Work is 2 hours a day. The rest of the day you can relax, read, listen to music, take siestas, swim in the cenote or go to the beach. You can also explore the nature reserves with flamingoes and crocodiles, visit the Mayan ruins or go to the colorful colonial towns of Valladolid and Merida. Rancho Santa Maria is a gay friendly place. I do not charge any money for your stay and I will provide you with a small house in the garden with a double bed, a hammock, a hot water shower, private toilet and cooking facilities. Bring your own food or eat with me for a dollar and a half a meal. You are free to eat any vegetables and fruits from the gardens. I hope to see you soon!
