We welcome those with a genuine interest in participating on our farm, and organic garden.
Learn and share self sufficiency skills.
We have sheep, rabbits, chooks, turkeys, miniature horses and two big horses. An opportunity to ride together, for experienced riders, (horses are either young or not suitable for learners) although inexperienced but interested folks can learn ground skills and horse handling. We use Natural horsemanship methods, and ride mostly on the beach . Good opportunity to learn NH (lots of training DVD's). Current projects are cleaning up garden beds, weeding, gathering and spreading horse poo and beach mulch, firewood, compost making, mulching garden beds, and general care of animals.
Food and accommodation provided in exchange for 5 hours help daily. Household chores and cooking are shared so bring your favorite recipe. On rainy days we have work in our 12 meter tunnel house or we catch up on housework. Bicycle available to explore the area. Beach, bush walks, PuPu Springs and town all within biking distance.
Please bring suitable footwear, boots or gumboots are best and a raincoat as animals and farm life need tended all weather. Our place is most suited to people that can fit in easily, are self motivated and can work both independently and together well, that want to experience a Kiwi lifestyle.
