Hello, my name is Andy, I have a working livestock farm as well as a Campground and a Horse trekking and Quad biking Business that I run with my daughter Emma. She has grown up around horses all her life and is in charge of the horses and trains/works them with Natural horsemanship methods.

Apart from the horses there is also sheep and cattle on our farm along with Chickens, ducks, 2 dogs and a cat called Xena.

Our farm is located approximately 5km from the Te Anau township and 2hrs drive from the adventure capital of New Zealand, Queenstown. As well as the mysterious wonderland of Milford Sound. We are surrounded by the beautiful fiords and mountains which have greats walks e.g. The Kepler Track, The Routeburn Track and the Milford Track. We are more than happy to help you experience these magical places.

We are an easy going family and are pretty flexible. We do expect helpers to be respectful of our home, be polite, courteous, clean and tidy and have good manners.

Accommodation includes a sleep out (sleeps 2-3 people) and a spare bedroom in the house (sleeps up to 3 people). All facilities and three main meals are shared. We are big meat eaters, therefore we find it hard to cater for vegetarians.

We need help with house work and general farm jobs. We like people to stay for a week or more who are keen to experience kiwi farm life.
Duties will include but not limited to:

GENERAL FARM WORK: weed control, splitting wood, picking up sticks and rocks, feeding animals and mucking out paddocks as well as some others depending what is happening on the farm.

HOUSE WORK: Gardening, painting, some cooking, washing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning rooms in the house, cleaning windows etc.

For those wanting to help with HORSES - We like people to stay for at least 1mth as it takes a while to teach our specific way of doing things. This is depending on your experience with horses, in all areas. We are looking for people with 5yrs or more horse experience (meaning riding & handling more than once a week)

One of our biggest jobs depending on the season is the horse treks and quad trips (Mainly spring/summer). We would like people to help with (but not limited to) grooming, yard chores, riding horses and helping on treks.

Due to the nature of our businesses there is no set hours, however 6 hours work per day to cover food and accommodation is expected for the horse treks. The days can be long sometimes however we are flexible, this is something we will need to talk about before you come.

After a hard day's work we like to kick back with a cold beer or a spot of whiskey and a good old movie night. We also enjoy the odd BBQ depending on the weather.

We like meeting new people and sharing our knowledge with them and visa versa.

Look forward to meeting YOU!!!

Cheers Andy & Emma
