We are currently seeking people,1 male 1 female for an immediate start.some work with sheep and some work with cattle.Prefere 3 weeks or more if we are compatable.Drivers licence would be great so you can visit tourist spots around the Island. We can lend you a vehical but you would have to pay for the fuel.Work 4 days a week and have 3 days off to do as you please. There are koalas at the moment. English is essentual or being prepared to learn English and try to converse with us.Our farm is located just off the coast of south Australia on Kangaroo Island .
We are a beef, lamb and wool production farm. This is not a property that has a paid position.
.You will find your accommodation very clean and well appointed with all modern convieniances and we like to see it clean at least every day.We have put a lot of effort to provide our helpers with respectable accom and would be very disapointed if it was not respected. You find various activities available for you to do during your time off exploring the island including sight seeing some of the most spectacular beaches in Australia.Hiking trails, national parks and an abundance of wildlife. You can see KOALAS every day on our farm if you want.
You will be provided with meals and lodgings on your stay . Also if you have allergies we would expect you to bring your own medications and preventatives. This is a fully working farm so there for can be a dangerous environment to work in,so being able to understand English is very important for all concerned.
Keeping your accommodation clean and tidy at all times is expected, that includes your bathroom and shower. We do not have any house hold positions only keeping you own accom clean and tidy, just helping set the dinner table if need be and clearing table after all meals and washing dishes .You will be responsible for your own laundry .Feel free to contact us if you wish to experience some of our genuine Aussie lifestyle. We try to balance our life with work and play.Jobs on the farm are entirely helping Dennis in winter and summer so being fit would be great, sometimes you will be expected to work on your own.Dennis also does some home renovations and really enjoys a change from farming every now and then.Sheep and cattle work is ongoing throughout the year and they always come first. As mentioned Heather does not have any household duties and prefers to work on her own but will ask for help if need be..Every experiance we have had with both helpx and wwoof australia has been a lovely one and want to keep it that way so please come with a possitive attitude and your stay will be very much appreciated. If you have any questions for us please feel free to contact us through helpx email and not by phone as we are both very busy on the farm etc.Looking forward to recieving your emails.
