We grow feijoa, tamarillo and black passionfruit for market. We also grow most of our own vegetables and other fruits. We have a flock of chooks, a friendly dog called Wallace and a pretty recreational garden.

We are on the edge of an estuary and 5 minutes bike ride from the beach.

We are close to the villages of Karamea and Market Cross, about 5 mins bike ride to one and 10 mins to the other.
We are 20 mins from the Heaphy Track, 30 mins from the Wangapeka track and 40 mins from the Oparara Arches car park.
There are several other walkways and walking tracks close by.
Beach and river fishing spots are also close by and you are welcome to try out our rods and nets.
We have 2 pushbikes you can use anytime.
The accommodation is separate from the house and has a kitchen, bedroom and compost toilet. At this point the shower is at the main house but if you are interested in creating a nice shower space nearer to your space there then we are keen to help you try your idea out.
There is free wifi at the bach.

Generally we do most things ourselves but we always appreciate any help with pruning the old passion fruit vines and re-planting the new season's vines from late September to late November. At other times of the year there is fruit picking and packing and general gardening. We have been growing things for a long time (35 years) and have plenty of tips to pass on if you think you might like to know more about this way of life.
We almost always have ongoing creative building and landscaping projects and appreciate the perspective of fresh eyes and ideas.
Occasionally we do contract national park track maintenance jobs for a local trust and you are very welcome to come along for the experience.

Our work experience days and hours are flexible as many of the activities that you will probably wish to take advantage of while you are in this locality will take all day to access and enjoy properly.
