We live on a 27 acre smallholding in south west Wales. We have been here since January 2019. The farm was neglected for almost 40 years so we have a huge amount of infrastructure work to do. Although we weren't really ready for animals - no livestock fencing!! - in our enthusiasm, we went ahead and got some.... 10 goats, 15 chickens, 2 cockerels, 2 pigs and we already had 2 ponies. Our intentions are to become as self sustaining as possible, producing our own milk, cheese, eggs, meat, vegetables, wool, fibre. The work we are currently focusing on is fencing, gates, re-establishing the polytunnel, tree cutting (and, later, re-planting) for timber, firewood and woodchip (for animal bedding). We also need to put a new roof on the barn, build field shelters for the horses and goats, build new barns to accommodate animals in winter and store hay/feeds and restore a derelict cottage.... the list goes on and on! We also want to create some man made beauty around the place.

We have a couple of caravans as accommodation for one or two people. A living/bedroom and a kitchen/dining/bathroom. Both have heating.

So, our main priorities are:
- processing trees into boards, firewood, kindling and bedding
- Fencing fields and paddocks
- Strimming rushes, brambles etc
- Build a barn
- Clear derelict cottage
- Start refurbishing cottage
- Planting an orchard

We would love help with any of these projects. We are both skilled in many aspects of farming, growing, woodwork, building, craft work, pottery, wood turning..... We have started cheese and yoghurt making from our own goats milk. If you have skills you can add to this list or wish to learn from us we would like to hear from you.
