We are 3 women, 3 dogs,24 ducks, a goat named Winifred, and several large gardens,in rural Waihi. We are at the very beginning of our project - building a lifestyle/farm which is as natural and self-sufficient as possible. We are off-grid, with some solar power. We have composting toilets. This is an opportunity to experience true kiwi Glamping!
-building and renovating 'tiny house' cabins
-building animal shelters
-creating and building gardens.
We are looking for helpers who are honest, trustworthy, clean, reliable and willing. Must definitely be kind, friendly, tolerant, nice people, and be very sensible around animals, especially dogs. You also must be team-players.
You must be able to follow instructions! Please follow this very simple instruction -
make sure you have a photograph on your profile....!!
Applications with no photograph will be ignored.
This is a workplace. We go to bed early and get up early for work. You are expected to clean up after yourself, and help out with regular household duties.
(If you are looking for waitress services, or if you have a 'Princess' mentality, please do not apply here!)
WE can sometimes also accommodate a single person or a couple who are wanting a longer term stay. Please get in touch if you are looking for a project to get involved with over a month or two.
PLEASE NOTE: We are currently building our cabins. Until they are ready, we can only accept helpers with your own campervan or similar accommodation. We can sometimes provide tents if required. We generally accept helpers for 1 week at a time.
PLEASE NOTE: we only accept applications from helpers who have a photograph on their profile.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PHOTOGRAPH ON YOUR PROFILE, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY. If you cannot follow this simple instruction, please do not apply.
We are about 6km from Waihi township so your own transport would be useful. However we do have bicycles for helpers to borrow, and we can take helpers into town when we go on errands.
Some NZ sign language spoken, Vegetarians can be catered for. We offer a healthy, fun and friendly experience, 3 yummy meals a day plus home-baking, beautiful surroundings, and opportunities to meet people and join in with community activities
This is a bit of a challenge and not for everyone, but if you like this kind of environment, you will have lots of fun. PLEASE BE VERY SURE THAT YOU WANT TO COME HERE! please only apply if you are sure. Thanks.
